Giving you the first meal of 2026, as AS seems empty (per usual).
下手为强。It's always empty as usual (11:4X).
An indian staff told me to self service myself, well sure.
Koyori cooks a Coyote Fried Rice, one sleeping, other 2 decided to have tomorrows rice.
(I mean it's healthy can't blame them, but the chicken slightly lacks flavour to me).
Bawang is burnt (literally) so they're closed for a while. So I return.
Had this like 596 days ago.
Managed to self service myself again. This time with lady staff to help chop.
Indecisiveness. Chose something new at the same place.
I just miss you. You are always the same.
At first I thought they didn't serve the soup, turns out they just served it later.
I finished the rice first, then the sambal, with quite some chicken to spare.
How much to get a top up on you? Hail card usage
Was thinking I'd grab a simple light meal before coming to the AGM, but it was raining.
Thankfully, food arrived earlier, so I can feast (it seems plenty).
It was taking a bit, so I took a 2nd one an hour++ later.
AGM finished, it was fine.
Was thinking of getting McD. It was my fault for being naive that they'd offer free food via vouchers.
Their QR is called Nurazahari Dapur Penang.
I was thinking of Sky, but somehow the roti man isn't here. AS it is.
They seemed busy today serving kids, so I self served a bit, but staff still managed to chop my chicken.
Koyo cooks presumed tomato macaroni (bolognese?), bois & another eating tomorrow rice.
Lack of space, so I split with the bois.
Bawang still closed, gepuk takes at least 30 minutes for their chicken, tandoori too many people.
Delima doesn't have enough chicken, Azeey & Shiok is meh, along with HSH.
You shall be chosen.
Business week, after 3 years. Thanks to Kysium for the drink sponsor.
It tastes of watermelon. That is all to say.
Wat do you mean you forked my site and forgot to do anything with it??
They have upgraded their interior significantly.
I decided to order the usual, while they went for John bread & various Satays.
Upon finishing the lab test (and done the necessary work), we could go back early.
So I rushed here, thinking I'll have enough time before food runs out.
So for this meal compared to the previous, I get a hashbrown & an orange fizz in return for giving up the sundae & +10 sen.
Been almost 6 months since I had ya. Since I'm travelling back, might as well as the time kinda fits.
They given me full service. 1 bowlful of rice, and 2 scoops of goat curry, didn't see how much for cabbage.
It seems to be full of wings, so I just took any wing.
Somehow she said other 2 drinks are charged now. So I chose teh o ais, which was said to be free.
Bois came down at 12:11, and they ordered limau ais? Is gal staff not communicating with man staff?
Am I missing something? Am I being skemmed? Oh yea the inner seats are said to be cooler by them.
They're back with it. Might as well.
Barring list out, the boys & co don't wanna come to uni anymore.
Solo gaming it is.
After a quite nice test, I came back to finish laundry before the boys came back.
This is the fastest meal I could think of.
Gambled, and it seems there's still enough food despite only arriving at a little after 12.
Just be wary of the long queue that easens up as time passes.
Wanting to try Izz, it's closed when I noted back then it was open during the evening. "Freestyle".
Came back, bois already eating Yesterday Rice. Oh well.
Per Herrscher, this is a recommended go-to for him. Time to try it.
They took like 24 minutes to serve this. Or rather, until my number buzzed.
Somehow am a lil hungry after breakfast.
Decided to spin the wheel debating between Penyet & Kandar with me being indecisive.
I'd prefer Penyet to be once a month for saving purposes
Bois are eating AS Nasi Kandar, didn't wanna interject their meal time as I came back at like 7.
So it takes 8 minutes to reach Dapo from Student Lounge, assuming lifts in favour.
I somehow returned (after a 1 on 1 class that dismissed early).
Bois + Benon having Todays rice, and no way I would have enough space to dine together.
"We ball" was the last words I mentioned before returning to this place.
Chauffered bois after an offer by me (read: good student points). I guess I'll be priviledged enough to dine with them today?
Walked around twice, settled with you to try your Biasa. Suprisingly way faster this time.
Was planning to go Fu Jee... car battery broke down. Welp, Starbees it is.
Freestyle Izz is opened, might as well. They didn't have sausage available, so he offered this. Alright.
Somehow I was expecting nugget infused rice, but this is nice I guess.
Afterthoughts, Jan 31:
January didn’t escalate — it pressed.
Same demands, same places, same stalls, repeated until they felt normal, like a routine.
Days were dictated by schedules and hunger windows.
Meals became checkpoints: what was open, what was fast enough, what wouldn’t cost too much — financially or mentally.
I circled familiar options, occasionally detouring, usually returning to what worked. Not out of love, but reliability and consistency.
FYP stayed in the background like a low hum — never silent, never urgent enough to ignore, always present.
Tests came and went. Some went fine. Some crushed hope and will. I showed up, did what was required (to the best of my power), then moved on without ceremony.
Projects… manageable at best; juggling them all was a bit of a pain.
Bonus feats this month: had my first 1-on-1 lab session with the lecturer — everyone else didn’t show thanks to the barring list being finalised. A quiet, unusual milestone, a little scary and intimidating, but memorable. Please, never again.
Also completed my first Carousell deal — a small milestone, yet a reminder that progress comes in tiny, unexpected packages.
Socially, I hovered — close enough to be around, distant enough to stay alone when it made sense.
Not isolation, just efficiency. Even comfort has a cost when time is tight. (Gym gets a nod though.)
A cookie not quite made for the mould — a bit odd, raw around the edges.
Yet I stayed near the batch, hoping to dunk alongside the others without losing myself. I didn’t fit perfectly, but I held my shape.
Being forced into the cutter (and helping others) could prove valuable, but would I lose myself in the process?
January wasn’t about momentum or renewal.
It was about continuity — proving I can hold a line without burning out or giving in.
Still here. Still functioning.
February can come, and end this trimester.
