05 Jan 2026 (Monday)

Roti Kahwin [Dapur Chilli] RM 4.00

(Dinner)

Giving you the first meal of 2026, as AS seems empty (per usual).

  • Slightly took their time, ~15 minutes.
  • The rotis are as tasteful as usual.
  • Curry good, sambal good, just dhal beany as usual.
I'll return to AS some day.

06 Jan 2026 (Tuesday)

Nasi Kandar [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 7.50

(Lunch)

下手为强。It's always empty as usual (11:4X).
An indian staff told me to self service myself, well sure.

  • Rice I took maybe more than a bowlful? Unsure as I didn't bowl it. There are some burnt parts but I avoided them.
  • Cabbage maybe a push or 2 down the plate
  • Chicken (thigh?) unchopped, as I am not touching the cleaver.
  • Goat curry.
  • Limau ais, took out some ice. Remember to stir beforehand, as there's sugary syrup beneath.
The bois came down when I almost finished (12:0X), so I guess that's a win in my books.

Nasi Goreng Pattaya [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 8.00

(Dinner)

Koyori cooks a Coyote Fried Rice, one sleeping, other 2 decided to have tomorrows rice.
(I mean it's healthy can't blame them, but the chicken slightly lacks flavour to me).

  • Carrot, Long beans?, Green chili, Garlic
  • Chicken, 2 slices of cucumber, Egg
  • Egg is wrapped nicely with chili sauce & green garnish (edges do cover bottom of rice, but not full wrap)
  • Am assuming it's nasi goreng cina as it's base.

07 Jan 2026 (Wednesday)

Nasi Campur [Cita Rasa Delima] RM 9.00

(Lunch)

Bawang is burnt (literally) so they're closed for a while. So I return.

  • Ayam Masak Merah: There's only 2 wings & a drumstick remaining, +1 scoop of sauces
  • Kangkung Goreng: 2 scoops. Red chili slices, Onions, and anchovies (wet).
  • Rice: 2 big? scoops.
How I'd say: "You get what you pay for. In this case, less cake rice, for higher prices."

Chinese Sausage Fried Rice [Ri Yue Ming] RM 11.00

(Dinner)

Had this like 596 days ago.

  • Long bean, Carrot, Egg
  • Chinese sausage is plentiful.
  • Think of prawn fried rice, but replace prawn with chinese sausage
Herrscher says Char Siew Fried Rice is a good choice, but it's 12... Maybe some day.

08 Jan 2026 (Thursday)

Nasi Kandar [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 7.50

(Lunch)

Managed to self service myself again. This time with lady staff to help chop.

  • Teh o ais: likely has 2 scoops of ice, I filled my entire cup with it.
  • Rice: 1 bowlful, then another 1/3. Slightly sticky, maybe because I took the edges, or it isn't fluffed enough.
  • Vege: 1 pushful, then half a scoop
  • Goat curry. Wonder when I could scoop 1 single piece of goat to try.
I should increase my QR usage. It is called Restoran Nasi Kandar on it.

Kuey Teow Goreng Biasa [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 6.00

(Dinner)

Indecisiveness. Chose something new at the same place.

  • It's wet-ish, typical Malay style.
  • 2 cucumber slices, Green chili, Carrot, Coriance (ew), Fried onions, Cabbage, Vege
  • Some chicken
  • Over 30 minutes to finish.
To say the least, it sucks.
Or is it because of what I'm discussing about that made it suck?

09 Jan 2026 (Friday)

Nasi Ayam Penyet [Sky Malaysia] RM 9.00

(Lunch)

I just miss you. You are always the same.
At first I thought they didn't serve the soup, turns out they just served it later.

I finished the rice first, then the sambal, with quite some chicken to spare.
How much to get a top up on you? Hail card usage

Game Development Club Meal [GDC AGM] Free

(Dinner 1)

Was thinking I'd grab a simple light meal before coming to the AGM, but it was raining.
Thankfully, food arrived earlier, so I can feast (it seems plenty).

  • Sandwich 1: Egg? Yellow thing? Cabbage, Thin tomato
  • Sandwich 2: Tuna (ew), Thin cucumber, Cabbage
  • Popiah: Carrots & presumed Radish
  • Sirap: nice
That is the thinnest sliced veges I've ever seen.

Game Development Club Meal [GDC AGM] Free

(Dinner 2)

It was taking a bit, so I took a 2nd one an hour++ later.

  • Sandwich 1: Egg? Yellow thing? Cabbage
  • Sandwich 2: Tuna (ew), Thin cucumber, Cabbage
  • Popiah + more Sirap

Ramly Burger Ayam Biasa [Faizal Burger] RM 5.50

(Dinner 3)

AGM finished, it was fine.
Was thinking of getting McD. It was my fault for being naive that they'd offer free food via vouchers.
Their QR is called Nurazahari Dapur Penang.

  • Onions, Cabbage, Lettuce
  • Chili sauce (non spicy), Mayo, that brown sauce
  • Buttered bread
  • Sauce is lacking at top, but ok at bottom
McChicken (post discount) is cheaper than this.

12 Jan 2026 (Monday)

Roti Kahwin [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 4.00

(Dinner)

I was thinking of Sky, but somehow the roti man isn't here. AS it is.

  • Dhal: ok, at least not beany
  • Curry: ok
  • Sambal: had to specify I wanted it. Initially gave 2 scoops, I asked for 1 more.
Somehow they gave more than last time, means I could ration more freely.

13 Jan 2026 (Tuesday)

Nasi Kandar [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 7.50

(Lunch)

They seemed busy today serving kids, so I self served a bit, but staff still managed to chop my chicken.

  • Sirap ais: Filled my entire cup with ice, so sweetness isn't diluted.
  • Rice: Around 2 2/3 bowls.
  • Cabbage: 1 pushful
  • Goat curry..
Uncle boss interogated my background. I may have told too much.

Nasi Goreng Biasa [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 6.00

(Dinner)

Koyo cooks presumed tomato macaroni (bolognese?), bois & another eating tomorrow rice.

  • 2 cucumber slices
  • Greens, fried onions, cabbage, carrots, vege
  • Chicken
If I drive out, what can I eat, where can I park even? Will it be worth it?

14 Jan 2026 (Wednesday)

Nasi Ayam Set [Amzira Shak Enterprise] RM 8.00

(Lunch)

Lack of space, so I split with the bois.
Bawang still closed, gepuk takes at least 30 minutes for their chicken, tandoori too many people.
Delima doesn't have enough chicken, Azeey & Shiok is meh, along with HSH.
You shall be chosen.

  • Took around 10 minutes to serve.
  • Their dark sauce still tastes burnt.
  • Chicken breast not on par with the chinese stalls of course.
  • Everything else is ok.
In a sense, I could take the bus, drive to somewhere, come back, then take the bus back.

Jiahao's Watermelon Smoothie (JWT) [Meowcha.MMU] RM 7.90 Free

(Drink)

Business week, after 3 years. Thanks to Kysium for the drink sponsor.
It tastes of watermelon. That is all to say.

Wat do you mean you forked my site and forgot to do anything with it??

Nasi Goreng Biasa [Warung Hanna Crystalville] RM 7.00

(Dinner)

They have upgraded their interior significantly.
I decided to order the usual, while they went for John bread & various Satays.

  • Vege, Cabbage, generous? chicken pieces, Half a green & red chili
  • The Sup Kosong feels better?
Hell of a lab test.

15 Jan 2026 (Thursday)

Nasi Campur [Dapo Sahang] RM 6.00

(Lunch)

Upon finishing the lab test (and done the necessary work), we could go back early.
So I rushed here, thinking I'll have enough time before food runs out.

  • Rice: Unsure how much I took
  • Ayam Masak Merah: I finished half of it, and my rice all gone.
  • Yellow cabbage: 1.5 scoops
  • Chili thing: from fishes
You still taste the same, although maybe I forgot how your chicken looked like redness wise.
I should've took more rice, but fear of cake.

Golden Prosperity Burger Special Set [McD Edusphere] RM 17.90

(Dinner)

So for this meal compared to the previous, I get a hashbrown & an orange fizz in return for giving up the sundae & +10 sen.

  • Golden prosperity burger, beef, extra onions
  • Curly fries (M)
  • Orange McFizz (M), no ice
3 packets of chili isn't enough to finish the fries.
I feel I lack sauce, but by the time I noticed it, I'm already way over the mark..

19 Jan 2026 (Monday)

Chicken Soup Noodles [Salam Noodles] RM 10.05

(Dinner)

Been almost 6 months since I had ya. Since I'm travelling back, might as well as the time kinda fits.

  • Plentiful chicken cubes, at least 16 of them.
  • Managed to add noodles once.
  • Somehow I can't tell if I'm a bigger eater back then, the noodles I received was doubled, or the chicken degraded in quality.
  • 8 chicken pieces remain as I finished up most of my 2nd serving.
Beef is worth the premium. Nuff said.
  • Chicken Soup Noodles - 9.50
  • ST 6% - 0.57
  • Rounding Adjustment - -0.02
I wonder how does Ayam Getok Mantul & Ayam Gepuk Shilla taste like.

20 Jan 2026 (Tuesday)

Nasi Kandar [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 7.50

(Lunch)

They given me full service. 1 bowlful of rice, and 2 scoops of goat curry, didn't see how much for cabbage.
It seems to be full of wings, so I just took any wing.
Somehow she said other 2 drinks are charged now. So I chose teh o ais, which was said to be free.

Bois came down at 12:11, and they ordered limau ais? Is gal staff not communicating with man staff?
Am I missing something? Am I being skemmed? Oh yea the inner seats are said to be cooler by them.

Roti Kahwin [Sky Malaysia] RM 4.00

(Dinner)

They're back with it. Might as well.

  • Dhal: less beany vs Dapur, but more beany vs AS.
  • Curry: nice
  • Sambal: nice
  • Sauces are plentiful enough, ignoring dhal due to beaniness.
Cold, colder yet darker.

21 Jan 2026 (Wednesday)

Nasi Campur [Dapo Sahang] RM 6.50

(Lunch)

Barring list out, the boys & co don't wanna come to uni anymore.
Solo gaming it is.

  • Rice: Herrsher called it alot, maybe that's where the +0.50 came from
  • Ayam Masak Merah: Thigh, manage to ratio better than previous attempt
  • Yellow cabbage: 1 big scoop
  • Chili thing: from another chicken
Good thing there's not much cake. Herrsher said the strat is to take the inners, not the top, nor the sides.

Nasi Kerabu + Ayam Goreng [RMY Solutions] RM 8.00

(Dinner)

After a quite nice test, I came back to finish laundry before the boys came back.
This is the fastest meal I could think of.

  • Nasi Kerabu - 5.00
  • Ayam Goreng - 4.00 3.00
  • Chili based thing - absolute goat, albeit will choke on spiciness if not careful
  • The browner one - yum, coconut based
  • The red ish one - ew.
Lady said it's because it's small chicken, hence why it's +3 and not the usual +4.
Yes I ate it before, with my friends even back in the day.

22 Jan 2026 (Thursday)

Nasi Campur [Dapo Sahang] RM 7.00

(Lunch)

Gambled, and it seems there's still enough food despite only arriving at a little after 12.
Just be wary of the long queue that easens up as time passes.

  • Rice - around 4 varied size scoops? To avoid cake.
  • No extra merah sauce, curry from chicken, additional chillies from chicken & fish
  • Kangkung - 1. Big. Scoop. (with attempts to drain any excess water)
Okay maybe 1 big scoop was a bit too much. But still managed to finish it.. within an hour.

Nasi Goreng Biasa [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 6.00

(Dinner)

Wanting to try Izz, it's closed when I noted back then it was open during the evening. "Freestyle".
Came back, bois already eating Yesterday Rice. Oh well.

26 Jan 2026 (Monday)

Braised Beef Potato Noodles [Salam Noodles] RM 11.55

(Dinner)

Per Herrscher, this is a recommended go-to for him. Time to try it.
They took like 24 minutes to serve this. Or rather, until my number buzzed.

  • 11 potatoes, 8 to 9 beef slices
  • The sauce is tasty and plentiful
  • Added another serving of noodles 7 minutes in, finished it
  • They didn't give me a bowl despite asking, so I used the add noodle plate to scoop soup.
  • I could've took a 3rd serving of noodles, but am a little afraid I wouldn't be able to ration enough, or be too full.
So either this dish is goated, last week was legit 2x noodles, chicken was dawg, or the soup that made it full.
  • Braised Beef Potato Noodles - 10.90
  • ST 6% - 0.654
If I remember to bring my trusty cup I'll probably try the other stalls.

27 Jan 2026 (Tuesday)

Nasi Kandar [AS Nasi Kandar] RM 7.50

(Lunch)

Somehow am a lil hungry after breakfast.
Decided to spin the wheel debating between Penyet & Kandar with me being indecisive.
I'd prefer Penyet to be once a month for saving purposes

  • Rice is regular serving as they helped serve.
  • Goat curry.
  • Vege is maybe 3 scoops by me, not full ones though as it's a little hard to scoop & not push
  • Chicken is room temperature at best, otherwise cold. They cooked new ones as soon as I took & had it chopped.
  • Limau ais.
Huh, so what was it about the "only Teh o Ais is the remaining free one"?

Roti Kahwin [Sky Malaysia] RM 4.00

(Dinner)

Bois are eating AS Nasi Kandar, didn't wanna interject their meal time as I came back at like 7.

  • Dhal is a bit beanier than usual
  • Sambal is lacking portion wise
  • Curry is ok, able to add as well :D
  • Though somehow they took away my entire plate instead of giving me +1 plate
On the bright side I guess they didn't charge me for extra, like the old days.

28 Jan 2026 (Wednesday)

Nasi Campur [Dapo Sahang] RM 7.00

(Lunch)

So it takes 8 minutes to reach Dapo from Student Lounge, assuming lifts in favour.

  • Buttermilk chicken: At least 10 pieces due to me lazy to count, but there's a chance of not eating chicken.
  • Buttermilk chicken: Chicken, Garlic slices, Chili leaves, Red chili dices
  • Rice: Took nasi lemak type rice as they had that available, there's still slight chance of cake in it.
  • Curry: from chicken; Sambal (hidden): from fish
  • Kangkung: 2 normal sized scoops to prevent hard barks, quite spicier today
This is the first time I did not wipe clean the rice & went for the other foods. Nasi Lemak type rice really be fat.
Or is it because of the various sauces (water from kangkung, 1 scoop of curry) that drenched it?

Nasi Goreng Kampung [Ummifa] RM 8.00

(Dinner)

I somehow returned (after a 1 on 1 class that dismissed early).
Bois + Benon having Todays rice, and no way I would have enough space to dine together.
"We ball" was the last words I mentioned before returning to this place.

  • Green onions, Fried onion for garnishing
  • Kangkung, Egg, Chicken meat, Anchovies, Red chili, Green chili
  • Chicken feels to be have lightly sauteed with black pepper, which contributed to some spice
  • Spice levels on this is quite high, due to black pepper + chili combo. Took like 3 cups.
Judging from taste, it will triumph over Dapo on its bad day, but will lose on it's good day. To quote & paraphrase:
I don’t accept that Ummifa has won against me.
Even if he will win against me, because he never faced me at my best. While I always faced him at his best.
That’s not competition. I do not accept that I’ve lost to him, only fools would see it that way.

29 Jan 2026 (Thursday)

Ayam Gepuk - Set Biasa [Pasta Syok] RM 10.90

(Lunch)

Chauffered bois after an offer by me (read: good student points). I guess I'll be priviledged enough to dine with them today?
Walked around twice, settled with you to try your Biasa. Suprisingly way faster this time.

  • Ayam Biasa: Warm. Skin is tough, crispy is overall better but it's servicable
  • Some cabbage
  • 2 slices of cucumber.
  • Kicap: discarded
So indeed, original is faster. But personally, crispy is worth the wait (if it isn't 30+ whole minutes).

Nasi Goreng Nugget [Abang Izz] RM 7.00

(Dinner)

Was planning to go Fu Jee... car battery broke down. Welp, Starbees it is.
Freestyle Izz is opened, might as well. They didn't have sausage available, so he offered this. Alright.
Somehow I was expecting nugget infused rice, but this is nice I guess.

  • Fried Rice: chicken, garlic, green chili. No vegetable found
  • 3 Nuggets: not the one at home, but servicable
  • Sauce: would be nice if there's more
  • Overall: Fine, not ass, not good, just fine for a meal. Could fight HTC.
Just realised it's been 2 years since I had you (as a stall). And you didn't raise prices?

Cookie Off the Mould — Survive Near the Batch RM 712.63

Afterthoughts, Jan 31:
January didn’t escalate — it pressed.
Same demands, same places, same stalls, repeated until they felt normal, like a routine.

Days were dictated by schedules and hunger windows.
Meals became checkpoints: what was open, what was fast enough, what wouldn’t cost too much — financially or mentally.
I circled familiar options, occasionally detouring, usually returning to what worked. Not out of love, but reliability and consistency.

FYP stayed in the background like a low hum — never silent, never urgent enough to ignore, always present.
Tests came and went. Some went fine. Some crushed hope and will. I showed up, did what was required (to the best of my power), then moved on without ceremony.
Projects… manageable at best; juggling them all was a bit of a pain.
Bonus feats this month: had my first 1-on-1 lab session with the lecturer — everyone else didn’t show thanks to the barring list being finalised. A quiet, unusual milestone, a little scary and intimidating, but memorable. Please, never again.
Also completed my first Carousell deal — a small milestone, yet a reminder that progress comes in tiny, unexpected packages.

Socially, I hovered — close enough to be around, distant enough to stay alone when it made sense.
Not isolation, just efficiency. Even comfort has a cost when time is tight. (Gym gets a nod though.)

A cookie not quite made for the mould — a bit odd, raw around the edges.
Yet I stayed near the batch, hoping to dunk alongside the others without losing myself. I didn’t fit perfectly, but I held my shape.
Being forced into the cutter (and helping others) could prove valuable, but would I lose myself in the process?

January wasn’t about momentum or renewal.
It was about continuity — proving I can hold a line without burning out or giving in.

Still here. Still functioning.
February can come, and end this trimester.
